The Anchor Light Belay jacket has been an excellent addition to my Beyond collection. It has been comfortable in temps from 40°F down to single digits. (Both with and without L1/L2s) The US1928 pattern looks awesome in the snow. Incredibly light for being a winter jacket. Not stretchy like the Aptus, but still has great range of motion. The inside lining is super soft. Pockets are spacious. The only con is that it's incredibly hard to stuff the jacket into it's stow away pocket. I've not been able to get the entire jacket into it's pocket without feeling like I might rip a seam on the pocket itself. Aside from that the Anchor Light Belay is an overall winner in my book. Absolutely would (and often do) recommend this to others.
This jacket is super thin and warm, but by no means is it an expedition sized L7. Unlike other beyond jackets where you can layer, there is no way you are fitting a L2, L3, and L5 under this jacket at your normal size
If you want to use it as a level 7, maybe buy it a size or two up.
The jacket works exactly as advertised. I used it recently in 25 degrees and I was really comfortable. Great for active and static use. I didn’t get too hot in it, even when I was active. Great company with some really good gear. Definitely looking to buy more again soon.
This jacket is awesome and fits perfect. I am 6' 185 and the medium fit it perfect for me, I still have room for mid layers. With this jacket and a fleece mid I was comfortable down to about 0F but after that the cold started to seep in. The only reason to knock off a star is for the main zipper. It is a good quality YKK but the initial engagement gets hung up every now and then. Still a much better jacket than the other brands that I own.
Where to start - Beyond is a new company to me, but I am super impressed with their products so far. The K7 has exceeded my expectations for a synthetic insulated jacket - mainly, the new Primaloft compostable insulation: it's very warm! It's on-par performance-wise with any non-compostable synthetic insulation I have tested, and this includes some well-established brands like Wild Things Gear, Patagonia, Mammut, and others. Fit is perfect, and the features are great: drop-in pockets, pass-through chest pocket, cuff adjustments. Very pleased with this piece. I've used it for skiing on sub-freezing days, paragliding (see photo - riding to launch), backpacking, and general around-town use. I'll be spreading the word about Beyond.
