I'm going to start by telling you I have never written a review. At this point I can't help myself, the PERFECT Pant! Received these pants 10 days ago. I am an athletic 6'-0" 225 pound guy, with bigger legs and rear. Size 36 Regular fit perfectly. In 10 days I have logged no less than 60 hours of use. April in WI is tuff, morning temps in high 20's, afternoon temps in high 50's, rain, wind, and snow! Light base layer boxer underneath is all I needed. Mobility and Protection are key in everything I do. The fit, stretch and comfort are flawless. Wind protection, water repellency, and abrasion resistance is unmatched. I have wore several different brands of "High End" pant at work, in the mountains, or deep Boreal Forests. Most of these pants will excel at one or maybe two features, the Velox Light Pant excels across the board! They have just become my "GO TO" pant. I will wear these in any weather and under any condition! OUTSTANDING
I ordered my pants, but unfortunately did not receive them before I left for deployment. This is not the fault of Beyond, it's my fault for riding the fence and ordering too late. When I talked to my wife and she told me I got a package, she asked if she should open it. I told her I knew what it was and she could juat leave it in the spare bedroom till I got back. Luckily for me she's a badass and suggested she open it and review the items for me. I laughed and told her to go ahead.
She put on a show and did a mock unboxing review of the packaging, the free stickers, and the pants. She said they felt really nice and like they were high quality. She really liked the pocket layout. I asked her if they looked like they would fit me right (my first time ordering from Beyond) and she compared them to my regular jeans. I explained to her the numbered layering system and she thought that was really cool.
I also got the Testa K5 Pant, the Celerus K2 Pullover, and the Prima Lochi K3 Jacket. She really liked all of them and said she would be promptly stealing the jacket, despite it being about 3 sizes to big.
When you're deployed it's the little things that make the days better. This was a huge little thing. I love my wife for being creative enough to think of that, and caring enough to put in that effort. I can't wait to get home and try on the pants and other items. With any luck I'll be using them this coming fall. 10/10 would buy again.
Great pant overall. However the zippered main pockets are a pain.
Best general purpose outdoor garment I ever purchased equally suitable for xc skiing, hunting, travel, as hiking which was motivation for purchase. Details of construction, such as web attached waist button versus thread, as well as numerous functional pockets already make these my go to pants when heading afield.
Solid pant for hiking and outdoor work, with plenty of storage. Performs well in snow when paired with some thermals. Water resistant and breathable. The integrated gaiter is nice, but won't replace a full-sized gaiter in deep snow. It's also durable, handling an impromptu wrestling match on the living room carpet with my teenage boys just fine.
