The Stretch Alpha L5 Jacket is one of the most versatile jackets that Beyond Clothing offers. Proudly made in the USA, the L5 Jacket delivers 3 technical performance layers that all support moisture management. Including a water repellent and durable Tweave® nylon softshell, thermal regulating Polartec® Alpha® insulation, and a moisture wicking inner fleece lining. The Stretch Alpha Jacket will keep you protected from the cold and wet during activities such as hiking, backpacking, camping and more.

The inner fabric made of Polartec® Power Grid® Fleece provides moisture wicking properties to keep you dry while engaging in activities that generate body perspiration.

Polartec® Alpha® Insulation makes up the middle layer which continues to support moisture transport to the outermost layer while providing breathable warmth that will help regulate a comfortable body temperature.

The outer most layer is a softshell fabric made of Tweave® Durastretch® Nylon which has quick drying properties and is treated with DWR coating that supports protection from light rain.

Good jacket

Have worn out a few Arc'teryx Atom Lt's and Patagonia PCU 3b's because the insulation degrades after washing it a lot. Should not be as big of a problem with this one. The waffle fleece keeps me warm when I'm cold but breathes well while rucking in chilly weather. Is now a favorite jacket. Only wish there was a hoodless version and in a OD/darker green. Thankfully Beyond's Ranger Green leans more green than grey or PCU "green."

Excellent sub-60 outer layer

Very warm and comfortable, but wouldn't wear above 60 degrees because it gets too warm (for me). I like that the inside lining is a fabricy feel, so it doesn't get slick or sweaty if I get a little warm. It does a phenomenal job blocking wind! I can't feel any wind getting through, and I've used it in some very strong winds. I also like that the outer material is pretty quiet, not like a slick rain jacket that crinkles and you can hear 100ft away. Appreciate that it is slightly stretchy and fits to the body, so there isn't a lot of loose fabric hanging around your body to get caught on things. I washed it twice, didn't notice a whole lot of shrinking. I'm 5' 11" and weight 240lbs, power-lifter body, and I got the 2XL size. Fit my torso perfectly, the sleeves were about 1-2" longer than I'd like, but with the stretch cuffs it's fine, not a real issue. Only things I would change are slightly decreasing sleeve length, and lower the price! If it was cheaper, I'd buy another one :) Quality product.

Great jacket!

Cuts the wind great and doesn’t restrict your movement

Exceeds Expectations!!

I ended up at Beyond based on a recommendation from Wes Siler. This jacket is a perfect layering piece or a great outer shell for milder weather. It shed the pouring rain for about 20 minutes without problem and kept me warm in windy weather to the low 40s.
