the pants are fantastic, however the expedition size gets hard a dialing in. Also if anyone at Beyond reads this, I recommend developing a set of suspenders to go with this product!
The pants are well designed and well manufactured. The insulation is enough to keep you actively warm and enough protection for brief sedentary stints. May purchase an additional color.
From the mountains of Maine. It’s been a particularly cold winter in Maine this year. Perfect testing grounds for gear. Running late, gotta walk the dogs, it’s 0700 and it’s -12 with wind chill at -30. I throw on the Cetra pants over bare skin, thinking I’m gonna be cold but I’ll make it a short walk. I’m shocked at how warm I am, minus face and hands. Cetra completely blocks the wind. The material is so soft and warm, it doesn’t give you that ‘cold nylon against skin’ feeling. My Newfie looked colder than me. These pants put the long John companies out of business! Haven’t worn them all winter. Waterproofness, is that a word?, has also been impressive. It took an hour of sitting in a puddle in my tractor seat blowing snow before I even felt the dampness. The only thing I would add is one rear pocket. I keep going to slide my phone into the non existent pocket. I also find the elastic belt to be pretty useless. I’ve since purchased two more pairs of the Cetra, luckily on sale. Get them, they’re winter game changers.
Extremely happy with the quality of the fabric and stitching. Very warm, wore in 8 degree F for 4 hours and was comfortable. However, I’m 6’4” and have trouble finding pants long enough. I ordered 34L and they are VERY long! Inseam measurement would’ve been nice. Still love them and will keep. Not sure how long it will take to fray the bottom hem due to length.
Love these pants for staying warm at camp or while glassing. Nice, light, packable and warm!
