MOBILE WINTER WEAR
A lighter, more mobile alternative to the Cetra Durable L7 Jacket, the Anchor Belay L7 Jacket pairs bulk-free, eco-friendly warmth with flexible movement and easy storage. PrimaLoft® Black Bio insulation is biodegradable*, made from post-consumer recycled content, bulk-free, and retains warmth even while wet. The breathable shell combines rugged 20-denier ripstop with mechanical stretch, and the entire jacket compresses down into an internal stow pocket when not in use.

ADVANCED ECO-TECH WARMTH

Breathable PrimaLoft® Black Bio insulation quilted into the liner delivers bulk-free warmth even while wet. The synthetic down is biodegradable* and crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled content, ensuring your adventures are eco-friendly.

COMPRESSIBLE & MOBILE

Simple, space-saving storage comes courtesy of the highly compressible design and internal stow pouch. Lightweight construction with mechanical stretch and articulated sleeves provide ease of movement, and a cinchable, helmet-compatible hood and adjustable cuff tabs ensure a just-right fit.

RUGGED PROTECTION

20-denier ripstop softshell with a durable water-repellent finish (DWR) and a brimmed, helmet-compatible hood provides protection against scrapes, wear, and weather. A hem cinch and front-zip wind flap help seal out the elements.

Surprisingly warm, nearly perfect.

This is shockingly warm for the weight. As others have said, I think the fit is somewhere between the standard and expedition, but it has enough stretch that it shouldn't be an issue. I've found it has plenty of space for a base or two and the dasche L3 under it with plenty of room for another shell if needed. I think the confusion would come with the ARX L6, as that jacket in the same size is much larger.

The torso is a bit poofy when seated though, in part due to the large flat panel front. This can probably be fixed by raising the lower zipper. The waist cinch points are some of the easiest to adjust I've used and this has become the first jacket where I actually use them.

As one of the long-size-only customers, the sleeve and body length are as usual perfect from Beyond. For reference I'm 6'7, 155, and wear the Medium long. It's probably best suited for someone up to 170-180.

The only true negative is the hood and neck when the hood isn't in use. It's pretty much impossible to have the jacket zipped closed in a comfortable manner. The chin portion of the hood makes the opening too tight and results in the need to keep it about 1/4 open to avoid hitting your face with the collar. When the hood is up, it's perfect, so I understand the tradeoff. With that in mind, this is definitely a single-hood layer. Don't expect to wear the dawa sherpa under it without a ton of bulk behind your head.

Overall a great value, especially for tall customers that are normally stuck with cheaper, low quality alternatives from the competition.

Anchor Belay 7

Just received this coat as the weather turned warm, but still could see good rain storms. Was able to test the weather proofing in a rain storm that went through a couple days after. I can say it was amazing couldn't have asked for better breathability, rain resistance, and drying after. Build quality looks and feels great, now just have to wait till fall to see how it works in colder weather with a layer under it.

Anchored in awesomeness

The Anchor Light Belay jacket has been an excellent addition to my Beyond collection. It has been comfortable in temps from 40°F down to single digits. (Both with and without L1/L2s) The US1928 pattern looks awesome in the snow. Incredibly light for being a winter jacket. Not stretchy like the Aptus, but still has great range of motion. The inside lining is super soft. Pockets are spacious. The only con is that it's incredibly hard to stuff the jacket into it's stow away pocket. I've not been able to get the entire jacket into it's pocket without feeling like I might rip a seam on the pocket itself. Aside from that the Anchor Light Belay is an overall winner in my book. Absolutely would (and often do) recommend this to others.
