Hannah Strand

wildlife photographer | expedition leader

I have had the incredible experience of spending my childhood and much of my adult life in Tanzania, East Africa. I was born into a safari family – we were in the bush with the wildlife all the time. My father has been exploring Africa and sharing it with those who’ll travel with him for 40 years. My mother loved Africa, she taught me how a woman can be strong, passionate and make a difference. They met travelling across Africa and chose Tanzania to settle in and call home.

I have worked in rural Tanzania teaching and implementing sustainable agriculture techniques to small scale farmers, lived with the chimpanzees on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, studied Yoga in the rainforest of Costa Rica and led expeditions into some of the most untouched wilderness areas that still exist.

The wild is part of who I am, part of my soul, between us there is no separation.
