Yuba Ultralight L6 Rain Anorak

This is actually my second Yuba. I have a coyote, and bought a black. Extremely waterproof, and breaths well. Great piece of backpacking gear!

Needed to replace an old ORC PCU L4 layer that has seen better days and stumbled across the Yuba L6 on the outlet. Not apples to apples, but what a great piece of kit. Whether it's a lightweight windbreaker or an outer layer to keep dry in moderate downpours, this jacket is delivering. Did not have high hopes for its rain performance given how thin and lightweight it is, relative to heavier gore-tex L6 jackets, but it has surprised me thus far. Between the material and the DWR, it's shedding water like a champ while remaining impressively breathable. Easy to pack down and carry, a real utilitarian outer layer. Perfect for Fall layering when the wind starts chewing through L1-L3 layers.

Fit is pretty precise, if you expect to layer heavily underneath you might consider going a size above normal. I love the fit, just enough room to comfortably layer a next-to-skin and fleece beneath and not have any bagginess. Beyond has yet to disappoint me with many purchases over many years, this jacket ranks up there with one of the better picks though. At the ~$130 outlet price, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better lightweight L6 jacket out there.

Low weight, low bulk protection from the elements. Great regular addition to a carry on or personal item for those times when the weather forecast for your destinations are wrong. Looks nice, fits well.

It is super lightweight and can be packed up into a very small size. Love the style!

I was looking for a light weight, hooded jacket that would be durable enough to be abused by branches as my dog and I make our way through woods. This jacket has been great.
