Durable for sure. I've ridden horses with these bad boys, skated in empty swimming pools, hiked paddle boards into the backcountry, and have fallen into the drink wearing them. They dry quickly and the hold up to abuse. No sign of aging even after over a year of regular wear.
I received these recently and wanted to wait until after I had used them in the field to review... so here we go!
First- Customer Service:
As always, BC continues to deliver. The website said that they were out of my size in Coyote, so I decided to give them a call to see if there was a restock scheduled. I spoke to Mandy about my Mission and she confirmed that these pants would be a great choice. She checked on the restock status for me and ended up pulling a pair in my size from their reserve stock. In addition, she still offered me my professional discount and even threw in a pair of Crye kneepads she had laying around (They dont sell those, but they happened to be there for some reason). Mandy is awesome, be like Mandy.
Second: The Pants
These are hands down my favorite pants that I have fielded to date, having previously worn Crye G3 AW, Patagonia, and 511. You can tell that these pants were made with care and are built to last. They are rugged, and after 5-6 days of hard work in the field, they look like brand new. You can tell that everything about the design was thoroughly thought out. The crye kneepads fit perfectly, and the gaiters help keep unwanted stuff out (including water). Pockets galore on these pants that are placed methodically. Zippers, and stitching are top notch and the four-way stretch nylon dries quickly. It all makes sense. Listen, I could talk about these all day, but if you are on the fence, commit and make the jump. You will not be disappointed.
After experiencing BC's customer service and fielding the A9 Element Shirt / A5 Rig Light Backcountry Pants, I can honestly say that you have a life customer. Top Notch, High Quality Kit. Thank you! I'm looking forward to many adventures down the road; rocking Beyond Clothing
Excellent quality and comfort. Quick drying and comfortable to hike in all day.
The Beyond Rig Light Backcountry Pants are without a doubt some of the best pants I currently and have ever owned. I currently own two of them and they are some of the most comfortable, functional, and designer looking pants I have ever worn. Everything from the craftsmanship, the tailored yet flexible fit, the durability, and the rugged/designer look is "beyond" that of most other pants in it's price range. These are my go to pants regardless of what activity I am doing, whether it be work, hiking, or going out to a nice restaurant with some friends, the Beyond Rig Light Backcountry pant can handle it all.
Also, on a side note the weight of the pant is perfect. Most sofshell pants are either too light and strtchy making them sag under stress, or too heavy and thick making them useless unless in the dead of winter. However, the Rig Light Backcountry Pants are heavy/sturdy enough to handle some serious tasks, yet also light enough to wear comfortablly in an everyday situation like a pair of jeans.
I ordered first pair dreading the costs wondering how good could these pants could be to cost that much. I wear them at least two days a week, urban and rural. They show no wear. Iron tough. Have made several work trips to Africa where you have to pack light. Two pair of these and I’m set. None better, more expensive or less.
