Recently purchased this jacket to use as a intermediate layer for winter activities in Northern Wisconsin. Jacket works great with base layer alone down to 30 degrees and more than exceeded expectations when temperatures fell. Works as advertised.
The other reviews might not address your questions, so I'll do my best here. Sizing is important to note. Being short and stocky, I am typically between M and L depending on the brand. I'm 5'7", 190 lbs, 42" chest, 30" waist. I like my outerwear to fit appropriately with minimal bagginess at the waist. This jacket in L was perfect at the shoulders with just enough room at the waist that you could be a few inches wider and still feel comfortable. If you're between sizes, I would go up versus down.
The arms were long on me, as expected, but that's an easy fix with the cuffs. As far as durability, warmth, and mobility are concerned, this jacket exceeded all expectations. If you're moving, you can keep warm down to 35-45 just fine. It works well for static usage at 45-55 degrees with slight wind. For colder temperatures or strong wind, an active insulation layer would help. Water repellency seems satisfactory so far, though I haven't yet tested it in heavy rain. The stretchiness is a welcome addition to the package, and the durability of the outer layer is great if you wear a heavy pack or armor. Highly recommend this jacket.
The fit and finish of every product I've purchased has exceeded expectations. The promises made about the unique materials and their functions are understated compared to how well the perform in the environments they are designed for. I would and do recommend Beyond Clothing for any outer/underwear needs if you plan on spending any time outdoors.
I got the jacket for someone else. I liked it so much I got myself one. My only regret is not ordering two when they were on sale.
Great fit slim but stretched enough to to layer, material great not ruff in skin I loved the fit and finish
