Solid and Versatile

This jacket is an excellent outer layer. I've worn it with just a t shirt, just a sweatshirt and even with the L7 belay jacket underneath. It's fairly dense, but not puffy or thick. The external pockets are huge and usable, the internal SD card pockets are a little too niche for me to need but I haven't noticed their existence while wearing so thats no loss. It doesn't scream "tactical" like a lot of soft shell jackets do, so I'm able to wear it to work. If I didn't already have one I'd buy another one, it's a good deal

Good thick material. Keeps you warm with a T-shirt underneath to about 45 degrees outside. Seems like it is waterproof.

Best-Made Jacket I'll Ever Own!

Not sure why this jacket is always on sale. Bought in black a year ago for $60, but prob provides about $175 in value. Can layer over a thinner puffer jacket to be comfortable walking or biking to campus in 20 degree weather with sweat pants. Can wear comfortably at night-time sporting events with shorts and a hat in cooler 60 degree weather. Regularly wear over a sport coat or dress shirt when commuting to work, and have even worn it into a board room with executives and not felt out of place. The way the black fabric reflects the light is just beautiful and it is bound to a thin layer of fleece underneath (a technique I had never seen before but blows my mind) to add just the right amount of warmth. Of course the temperature of the jacket is easy to moderate with chest, hand, and stomach pockets that have soft mesh backing and zippers, allowing it to quickly respond to various activity levels. The pockets are cavernous inside. And I love the double zipper which is especially helpful after large meals, to allow the jacket to stay looking trim over an expanded stomach.

Only thing I would change is to lose the mesh near the inside corner of the hand pockets, because it makes my hands cold when bottom zipper is raised (and I worry it may eventually get a hole in it from carrying my car keys too much). However, I love the design of the cuffs with non-reflective plastic snaps, that adjust to wearing gloves, and somehow make the jacket more formal.

For me, this jacket's versatile design will always be in style and its understated yet functional elegance is greatly appreciated!

Side note: I wish Beyond sold some of their goods retail on the east coast; their brand would fit perfectly with Wander North Georgia stores in Clayton, GA (just a thought!).

I got this jacket as a "work outside" jacket since it was on sale for $70. When it came in, my wife liked it and wouldn't let me tear it up at work, so now it's a "church and date night" jacket. It blocks the wind well, is great for everything from light rain to a deep winter blizzard if you layer correctly. I'm a huge fan. I wish they made a coyote/fde version that I could wear for chasing coyotes in the dry parts of winter.
