The A1 Aether Pullover is a high-performance breathable, moisture wicking baselayer built from Polartec’s® super lightweight Power Grid™ fleece. The next-to-skin grid pattern is made up of air channels that help release excess body heat and perspiration. The smooth exterior of the fabric forces moisture to disperse and evaporate quickly. The grid construction also increases compressibility and reduces garment weight. Flat seam construction reduces bulk and irritation when layering. Wear the A1 Aether Pullover as a next-to-skin layer for lightweight moisture management during active use.

Fits me great. I’m a big guy and a heavy sweater. Def wicks well and long enough in the L length for me
I love this material. It is the fastest drying base layer I have. If I know I am going to get wet (or sweaty) this is the one I'll pick. I have completely submerged myself with this while also wearing a A5 Roman Shirt and walked myself dry in no time. I believe it was relatively warm that day, maybe 68.
I like how the structure of the material keeps other layers a bit off my skin. Let's my skin breathe more and provides some cushion that just makes everything feel comfy.
I haven't tried the A1 power-wools yet, but I have two sets of the K1 wool blends. I haven't used those for as demanding of situations yet. I haven't tried this while wearing them but the K1's do always dry a little slower whenever I wash them compared to the A1's. I tend to want to use the K1's for more casual wear and the A1's for more active. That just "feels" right to me. Though the K1's have done very well the times I've gone on a hike and got sweaty in them.
There are two things I would like see changed in the A1 Aether pullover. I would like to see the thumbholes like there are in all the other Beyond baselayers I have. I have fallen in love with having those.
I would also like the collar to be tweaked. The collar, when fully zipped, doesn't come up much at all. It is more like just a well-fitting t-shirt collar. I can even pull it on/off and put it on a hanger fully zipped. My preference would be for all the collars of all the layers to come up to the same height and start coming up at the same point. It seems to vary a fair amount between all the different Beyond layers I have and so when they are all zipped up sometimes they get wonky. Like the A1 collar kind of getting lost underneath taller collars or outer layer collars being tighter around my neck than inner layer collars causing bunching up.
Definitely a very nice product but I recommend sizing up. I'm usually a medium but it was super tight and short for my frame (6'1" 178lbs) so had to send it back for a large.
I wore it in 40s-50s Degree weather with rain and it kept me at a comfortable temperature. I did wear the very thin great beyond rain jacket with it when it rained. It took a small piece of shrapnel in the arm and only a partial hole in material it didn't go all the way through even though my arm had a very minor cut. It just made me mad cause the pullover was only 2 days old.
I love most things about this top but as the lightest long-sleeve A1 garment, I wish that it were a little less warm in the neck -- the collar seems more focused on keeping you warm than on keeping you cool when that's your challenge.
