Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Here is a list of our 4 favorite Irish Whiskey camping cocktails.

Irish Coffee – Can’t talk about whiskey cocktails without this morning staple.  This one is perfect for when you roll into camp, or if you just need a little extra hair of the dog.  If you’re trying to manage weight, you can use instant coffee, but our tastes are a bit more refined, so we made ours using an AeroPress and Black Rifle Coffee.

  • 5oz Black Rifle Coffee
  • 1-2oz Jameson Irish Whiskey

Hot Toddy – This is another killer whiskey drink for the trail.  Perfect for warming up after a long day, and the ingredients are super easy on the pack.  Just heat up a small cup of water on your stove, add honey, whiskey, juice from a 1/4 lemon and then mix it up with your camping spork.

  • Juice from 1/4 lemon
  • 2oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey

Night Cap – If you’re concerned with pack weight, but still want to party, this one is for you.  Super simple – just boil some water, add whiskey and throw a bag of good earth sweet and spicy tea into your mug.

  • 1 bag sweet earth green tea
  • 3oz water
  • 2oz Jameson Irish Whiskey

Fire Cap – This one is for those folks that just want to get proper St. Patty’s Day drunk in the woods.  Fire cap is definitely the easiest to make on this list.  This cocktail is most enjoyable when shared with a group of four, or more.  Take a fifth of Jameson, remove the cap, throw the cap into the fire, and pass that shit around until it’s gone!

  • 1 fifth Jameson
  • Friends

We’re always looking for good liquid inspiration, so let us know what your favorite camping cocktails are in the comment section below!  And please drink responsibly!

I don’t know where the blogger learned his camping and survival skills, but Whiskey in winter ?? Get lost ? Bedding down after dark ? Your gonna get someone hurt. … You also should never need a fire, and never build one. It wastes energy and time.

Astounded

“remove the cap, throw the cap into the fire, and pass that shit around until it’s gone!”
For the win. (I thought me and my friends were the only ones who rolled like this….)
