I bought this jacket in preparation for hiking a tough Colorado 14er in winter conditions. When I first tried it on, I was surprised at how lightweight it was. I'd expected something bulkier, but that didn't detract from its function at all. It kept me plenty warm and was tough enough to withstand all of the scrapes, slides, and tumbles along the way. It also kept me quite dry, which was an absolute necessity given all of the wet snow our group had to plow through.
This jacket fully lived up to the expectations and then some. After wearing it several more times since then, I can say that I'm a believer. It works well with multiple layers but also can be worn by itself. Excellent construction, comfortable, extremely functional. Worth the price.
quality of materials and quality of labor/workmanship are evident. design is very well thought out. would have given 4 and 1/2 stars if i could but i had to do 4. i like the snugness around the waist but on the cuffs its down right loose which id like to have seen match the waist. over all its a minor detail in a great layer.
Excellent warmth and durability.
This jacket works well as an out layer or mid layer. Fit is amazing and sits under outer layers without bunching or binding. Looks and wears great as an out layer. If you are looking for a versatile layer to add to an existing system or need a new jacket - look no further. 6”2 225 medium long
Definitely a nice piece of kit. Looking forward to many years of service. It is thinner than I expected but still warm. For me the best use case will be in cool and windy or light precip. Definitely an active use piece but could be layered up to be a nice outer piece for static conditions.
