Let me start this off by saying that you can either believe me or you don’t have to. For what I am about to tell you is truly the fantastical and astounding to say the least. And it all surrounds this great piece of clothing and how it carried me through my journey. It all started when I got received it in the mail. I was ecstatic by this Roman hoody. I had been debating on whether or not I wanted to purchase for the longest time. It’s great adventuress design, it’s rugged and tough looks, and it’s practical use in the environments to come.
It was a bright, clear, beautiful, cool winter morning. I was getting ready for a range day in the middle of no where in the northern parts of the panhandle. It was still cold and the day had some bite with the wind blow a bit and the humidity being a little higher than it usually was. I loaded all my gear, ammo, and targets into the truck I was borrowing from my father. I drove a car and needed something a little more robust that could traverse the terrain I was going on. I layered properly with the Roman hoody being over my t shirt. It was nice wearing on a day like that day. It was already beginning to keep me warm.
I began driving north on the highway. Traffic was not too bad early in the morning. I sensed that it was going to be an awesome day. Little did I know. I arrived at the sight where I was going to train. It was clear of anyone and it was all mine. I had a hundred yards to train on in the woods. The ground was red clay with casings and shells everywhere. Mainly a lot of shooter debris but that’s ok because I could use some of it as target practice.
I put on all my gear: my Team Wendy exfil helmet with Peltor comtac iiis attached, my TYR Tactical plate carrier and battle belt. I also had my Daniel Defense Mk18 AR pistol with a RailScales LDAG on it with some Magpul pro BUIS and my Glock 19X on my hip. I’m still building my Mk18 so don’t judge me.
