DURABLE COLD WEATHER PROTECTION
The A5 Rig Jacket is a softshell designed for active use in cold weather. Nice but needs some improvements

This a very high quality jacket. The materials are awesome. I'm 6'6" tall, 215 lbs with a 39" sleeve and the XL Long fits well in the body and sleeve length. I don't like the pocket linings. Have had that material before and it pills and wears through over time. Use the same soft-shell material that the jacket is made of. It'll be warmer and more durable. Needs a hood. Jacket is very athletic fit, which I like but it is snug in armpits and sleeves. The last suggestion would be is the need for a waist draw string to seal out drafts.

Effective

Used the jacket on a recent hunt/hike in Montana with the associated A4 layer jacket. Stayed warm and easily adjusted to varying movement temperatures.

Great Jacket

The A-5 is a great jacket. As with all the items I have gotten from you guys, this one is very well made. I like that the underarm area is only a single layer to allow for heat dispersion. It is more more expensive in the multicam than the solid colors but that is the one I wanted.

Perfect Coat!

This coat has replaced my standard issue level III, coyote brown, high loft fleece coat. I've worn it along the windy, damp pacific coast, in the cold mountains of Montana, and during chilly nights in the desert. Although it's not waterproof, it performs well in the occasional light downpour, and although it's not windproof it's still extremely warm. It has draw cords everywhere, including around the collar, allowing you to create the perfect fit and ventilation for your situation. The pockets are expansive, but also lay flat when you need to look sleek for formation or inspection. Because the coat stretches some, you can fit your body armor under if you desire. The zipper pulls are large and easy to operate with gloves. It packs down well, and be can rolled into a tight compact package.

My only asks would be the option to sew nametapes on upon purchase, and larger velcro areas on the shoulders for all the required patches.

This coat really is the ultimate upgrade and has made my life in the field so much more comfortable. Since I've purchased this coat, many in my unit have done the same. None of them regret it.
