This is my second Beyond Jacket. It is a perfect everyday jacket that is great for keeping you warm in the morning time and still comfortable as the day starts to warm up.
Their product and sizing matched the description perfectly. Material and finish were high quality. Items were delivered ahead of schedule.
Two words, great jacket.
Recently wore the jacket on a on and off rainy weekend in Minnesota, temps were in the 50s to 60s and it kept we adequately warm when moving with just a base layer under it, and at night it was great to be warm in camp with just a fleece between the two. Dried out fast between storms, and I never got wet underneath. I love this jacket. It's the best shell I own.
The Velox light softshell overall is excellent with plenty of pockets for everything you could possibly need, a durable outer shell that repels everything short of a hurricane, and dries quickly as advertised. Although the $135 (I got it on sale for $95) pricetag seems steep, it's actually competitively priced with other outdoors jackets with other brands. I'm 5'6 and about 155 pounds and ordered a medium to be able to fit insulating layers underneath and it fits perfectly. I've only had it for a month, but some issues I've noticed:
-The inner wind flap is quite stiff and rides high which can irritate the neck/chin if not zipped fully
-the hook and loop strap is large and can get snagged on things especially if you have a slim wrist like I do and need to close it all the way.
-the inner layer under the pockets is made of this mesh material. I can't review its durability yet, but mesh as pocket lining doesn't inspire confidence.
