Both lightweight and durable. The quality of the product is definitely present. Will purchase more in the future.
I got the Ventum Ultralight Pant (July 2020) in 30/regular.
Sizing: I usually wear 30 waist 32 length pants. The length was perfect. The waist was a bit large. I also got an A5 pant with a 30 waist and that waist fit perfectly as I would expect for a 30.
Materials: the pant material is very comfortable. It is very stretchable and soft to the touch, feels nice against my skin. I've had no issues with durability. It does not breathe as well or dries as fast as the Tweave Durastretch used on the A5 line though. The mesh in the front pockets snags a little on my keys and has pilled up after washing multiple times.
Design: I love the overall fit and it feels very comfortable. Never ever feels binding if I'm squatting or kneeling or moving around. The front hand pockets have mesh while the side zip pockets do not. That puts 3 layers of the pant material over the top of my legs which can get sweaty on a hot day if I am sitting down and it is laying flat on my leg. The back pockets do not have any flap or zipper on them so they are exposed. I've haven't lost my wallet yet when climbing around on things. With how stretchy the material is it can kind of pull tight and hold things in the back pockets as you move.
Suggestions when buying: this has been advertised as a very lightweight fast-drying pant. It likely is compared to many others out there. But if you want something even faster drying and more breathable, the Tweave Durastretch A5 pants I've found to be better at that (though they are much more expensive).
Fit great, high quality materials, made in America. Yes they are pricey but worth it.
I have a pair of the A9 element pant, and let me just say the K4 pant is so much lighter and more breathable. I love the A9 pant for summer boating. They have held up to extreme military use for the past 14 days. Easy to clean quick dry fabric that wicks away water. I am 100% buying more of these pants to replace my hot and very heavy K4 pant.
I've managed three or four hikes and the pants are lot more rugged than you would think from the weight of the material. I hit a couple of over grown trails and thorns without a tear and they dry pretty well too. The legs are wide enough and stretch just enough for technical parts without being "clingy".
The cloth doesn't breath like natural materials, but hold the pockets open while you're going and it immediately pumps all the heat right out through the mesh! I would say the build and material is on par with all my professional A5 gear and did I mention they come in woodland; I'm still waiting on y'all to make 'em in tigerstripe!
