I like the Modus Light Jacket a bunch. I like it so much I bought a 2nd one full price just so I could keep a backup safe for a later date. My favorite jacket of this type, super quality!
I like everything about it but would like the hood to be able to be zipped away in the neck area if needed. And anybody wanting one, I’d suggest to buy a size larger than even you think you might need. I’ve never owned a XLRG jacket in my life, but this one is slim in the ribs area so if you want good movement or will have a sweater or layers underneath, you’d probably want to upsize. -Nice work as always, Beyond Clothing. And I love your customer service, too. Top Notch! ..gary in Austin
Bought this jacket to go late season skiing; it performed perfectly in 40 degree weather with a sweater underneath. I've also enjoyed wearing it through the spring so far as a top layer/windbreaker. It's lightweight, breathes well but is warm when it needs to be be. Definitely true to size - as a 6'1" medium build person I probably should have bought the large instead of the medium; it fits well, but snug.
I have worn his jacket a half dozen days back country skiing i temps from 0 -25 degrees . Despite the tapered design, the jacket was adequate as an outer layer for all the insulating layers I needed for these temps and this activity. I still wish the garment was one inch longer in the torso, and had some pile or other softer material in the collar but I am generally happy with the jacket. You would have to pay $100-150 dollars more to get a similar jacket from a major label like Patagonia. One cautionary note. The 3.5 star note I left a week ago hasn't yet shown up.
Great jacket. It runs a little short in the front.
Light weight, great wind protection and great flexibility under moderate activity. Does a pretty good job in light rain as well.
