The Testa Cold Softshell L5 Jacket is the warmer alternative to the L5 - Velox Light Jacket, designed for active use in cold weather. An inner fleece laminate adds additional warmth, making it the go-to in cooler climates.

INNER FLEECE LAMINATE

An inner fleece laminate wicks moisture away from the body and traps heat.

AMPLE STORAGE

Store the essentials in the zippered chest, bicep, and hand pockets.

PREMIUM FINISHES

Brushed mesh inner collar/hand pockets, wind flap protecting the front zipper, and hypalon hook & loop cuff tabs ensure maximum comfort.

Yes! I got this and the thinner spring jacket, both are awesome.

I bought this cold weather version, which is warmer. I also have the thinner warmer weather version and they are both actually some of my favorites out of their collection. Serves as excellent daily driver in urban/workplace/backcountry uses. I mostly use these as my daily drivers all day inside the urban environment. These seem very durable. This is quiet thicker and more insulating than the warmer weather variant jacket. The elastic cuffs are hardcore rubberized and thick. I would put faith in the durability out in the field, but I’ve not done it yet. I bought these during the winter sale and strangely, I wear them more than I do some of the coveted jackets I own from Beyond, such as ultra lochi reversible, (another favorite for camping use) of the Aptus Hybrid. These are low key grey man, yet elegant professional. You could wear this with a button up shirt and tie and Still pull off this jacket.

Great product. But placed my order the 27th of November and didn't receive it until the 17th of December.

Excellent

Can't say enough good things about this jacket. I bought this specifically as my go-to fishing/hiking jack. I'm impressed at how confrontable and versatile it is. I have no movement issues or restrictions. I would suggest buying a size up if you plan on layering. I'm 6 foot around 190lbs and went with large, the jacket feels good, but definitely feels fitted.

Testa L5

Nice jacket! Very comfortable and doesn't restrict movement at all. I love that the shoulder pockets/vents are forward facing and catch air to force ventilation while walking. With all the pockets open one can vent really well if it starts getting too warm.

I'm 6'4 around 210 lbs and went with a large long. I based my sizing off the charts. The Testa is a much slimmer more form fitting cut than my Gen III ECWCS L5. I would say going a size up if a tight form fitted look while zipped isn't wanted would probably be a good idea.

There is enough room under the Testa for a t-shirt/silks and waffle top and that's it which is fine. The waffle top and Testa combo have been great together in the 20 degrees temps I've been in lately.

So far the only thing I'd change would be the cuff closure tabs. They are some sort of hard rubber laminated to hook material. The tabs are very stiff and cut to a point that snags on everything. I took scissors to them and rounded the point off which helped with the snagging. I would recommend moving to a more soft and flexible closure tab material for the cuffs on the Testa.

Overall I'm very happy with the jacket. Will be buying more from Beyond in the future!

Thanks for the great review!

We will take the cuff input into consideration.

Testa Softshell L5 jacket

The Testa jacket has been fantastic. By itself it's quite warm, but excels when layered. I was confused in sizing and went to the reviews for a better idea of what size to order, but ended up guessing. I went for a size large which ended up being a perfect fit. I'm 6'04" and 220 to give you an idea. The length is perfect to carry concealed and doesn't look baggy at all. This was my first Beyond Clothing purchase and I'm very happy with my choice.
