I have had my A5 Stretch Alpha sweater for almost a month. First impression is great. It has a nice feel. It feels warm yet light weight. The material is forgiving with movement in all directions. The hood is plenty large. Maybe even a little too big. It does pull a little bit off the back when its not up. I am 5'11 about 195 and bought the large. Feels great in the chest, arms and around the waist but it is just slightly short for me.
went on a trek to the Pacific Crest trail and mount Hood with this jacket. worked very well thru wind hale and rain.
stayed warm and dry thru it all. I highly recommend this to anyone.
this will be a part of my new Elk hunting equipment for now on.
Jacket is warmer than it looks making it the perfect fall outer layering piece. Size is fairly spot on, I am 5'10" and 205lbs and the large just fits with a t-shirt and long sleeve under it, if wearing as an outer piece in the winter with more clothes I would order the XL. Haven't worn it in a bunch of rain yet but the little it has seen it has performed well. Definitely more breathable than most jackets out there. Am very happy with the purchase so far.
I bought this jacket in preparation for hiking a tough Colorado 14er in winter conditions. When I first tried it on, I was surprised at how lightweight it was. I'd expected something bulkier, but that didn't detract from its function at all. It kept me plenty warm and was tough enough to withstand all of the scrapes, slides, and tumbles along the way. It also kept me quite dry, which was an absolute necessity given all of the wet snow our group had to plow through.
This jacket fully lived up to the expectations and then some. After wearing it several more times since then, I can say that I'm a believer. It works well with multiple layers but also can be worn by itself. Excellent construction, comfortable, extremely functional. Worth the price.
quality of materials and quality of labor/workmanship are evident. design is very well thought out. would have given 4 and 1/2 stars if i could but i had to do 4. i like the snugness around the waist but on the cuffs its down right loose which id like to have seen match the waist. over all its a minor detail in a great layer.
