I was excited to get this reversible jacket. I didn't know it was going to be this light weight, which I thought would be a concern regarding staying warm.
My jacket arrived moments before I was heading out on a neighborhood hike in questionable weather, so I thought, why not put it though its paces? And put it on.
I'm glad I did.
The lightness didn't matter. I stayed warm and even got a little wet from a bit of light rain and the jacket held up with no problems.
So now I'm even more impressed because its so light weight. Held up great and is not to bulky at all. Very comfortable to wear.
Great job Beyond!
The only critical feedback I could note, is the zipper pull likes to stick up slightly in the reverse position at about a 30 degree angle from flat. I keep subconsciously trying to push it down but overall this is a minor thing on such a great jacket.
Light weight but still warm. Ordered mine too late in the year so it’s been in the upper 30s at coldest times since I’ve had it. For me it’s perfect for those temps as I hate wearing anything more than a hoodie. I’m planning on ordering the black one next.
The Prima Lochi Jacket looks good and provides plenty of insulation for moderate activity up into the 40's F for me. Above that it is comfortable to wear lounging up to around 70F. If you're just sitting around for longer periods below 40F you'd probably be best served by having a warm base layer or jacket in addition to the Prima Lochi. Standing outside for around 30-45 minutes in the low 30's I started to feel chilled.
I'm 6'5", 230 pounds and ordered the Large Long. Sleeve length is nice and long which is something other brands have struggled with. It fits slightly roomy overall which allows for layering underneath. The hem of the jacket sits below my normal beltline and has elastic to keep it snug. There is also elastic in the cuff, but neither is overly tight and are not adjustable. The hood is not adjustable but doesn't interfere with your vision too much; when turning your head all the way left / right it partially blocks one eye.
There is an chest pocket on one of the reversible sides which I didn't notice when I was buying. In one config it will be an interior pocket, in the other you only get the exterior chest pocket. The camo color and pattern looks really good but I usually wear it with that as the lining.
It packs down ok, not as small as some of my other insulation layers but that's partially due to synthetic vs down and the facing material on this jacket being a little more robust.
I like it enough that I'm considering buying a 2nd in a different color. Really glad to see beyond clothing making long versions of most of their lineup!
So far all of the clothing items I purchased are serving there purpose.
First off the jacket fit like a glove. I was concerned it would be a bit tight. I’m 5’11, 210lbs with wide shoulders and it fits like it was tailor made. Jacket is warm and well built
