Product Questions

Q: What is the difference between Cold Fusion and Cold Fusion Light?
A: Cold Fusion is a mid-weight fleece laminated to a stretch woven while Cold Fusion Light is a lighter fleece laminated to the same stretch woven.

Q: What is the difference between the Shock, Q, and X jackets?
A: The Shock Jacket has a Raglan Sleeve (sleeve flows from neck to wrist), gussetted underarms, articulated elbows, Velcro closure on the wrists and a dropped rear tail. Due to patterning there are not as many options available on the Shock jacket as the other models.
The Q pattern is made for movement yet more of a square cut than our other patterns, enabling an easy fit, and easy layering.
The X Jacket is a technical pattern allowing for movement, and the most options available at Beyond, including internal and external chest pockets, and hoods.

Q: How do I know which product is best for me?
A: The Beyond comparison tool is a helpful place to go after reviewing the website.  The comparison chart allows you to see warmth, wind, breathability, and water replant properties of each garment side by side.  If you still have questions please contact Beyond at connect@beyondclothing.com to have further assistance in deciding or to have a fabric sample set sent to you.

Q: Can I add colors or options which are not on the website?
A: Unfortunately Beyond cannot accommodate individual requests for other colors (Mills require many yards per color) or options..  We always welcome suggestions and ideas.

A: Is your Cold Fusion your warmest fleece or soft shell?
Q: No. The Cold Blooded is the warmest fleece on the market. With two layers of thick fleece and Polartec's Windbloc membrane, the Cold Blooded is the warmest fleece on the market, and recommended for anyone in cold conditions, or who finds themselves cold alot of the time.

Q: You used to carry more products; where did they go?
A: Like many company?s Beyond from time to time modifies the product line-up as products become less popular or we decide they are no longer appropriate for either the product line or season.  Some products such as shorts are generally available on the website late spring to late fall and are not available at other times.

Q: What is a hip zip?
A: A Hip zip runs from the ankle to the hip.  These allow for manipulating boot laces, ventilation, and for ease in getting pants over boots.

Q: What is a waist zip?
A: A waist zip runs from the hip to approximately 8 inches down the outside of the thigh.  These can be used for ventilation or by releasing the Velcro tabs and unzipping a drop seat.

Q: Why are not all options available on all products?
A: Sometimes the design of a pattern or the fabric a garment is made out of does not allow for certain options to be included.  The designers at Beyond have spent a great deal of time determining the best design for each garment and what will and will not work.

Q: Can a garment be rushed for delivery earlier than the website stated timeline?
A: Garments cannot be rushed for earlier delivery as this would delay orders of other customers.

Q: Does Beyond sell custom shorts or convertible pants?
A: Our patterns have not been modified for this choice. We are working on this, and will make available on line once ready.

Q: Can Beyond make clothes out of my own fabric?
A: Depending on the type of fabric and the choice of garment, Beyond is often able to accommodate requests for the use of special fabrics in the production of custom garments. Such considerations are made on a case-by-case basis. Please contact: connect@beyondclothing.com to work with a production specialist for more information.

Q: If I have a garment(s) made from my own fabric, can I expect a discounted rate for the garment(s)?
A: Beyond is not able to offer discounted rates for garments made from non-proprietary fabrics due to varying costs in production and time spent adjusting patterns, matching threads, etc.

Q: Does Beyond do large quantity custom-size orders or large quantity standard-size orders? If so, how do I initiate such an order?
A: Beyond Clothing now has the capacity to meet large-scale standard-size orders and scaled custom-size orders. For more information and to initiate a large-quantity order, please contact our Sales and Marketing Manager, Liana Herron at sales@beyondclothing.com.

Measuring Questions

Q: My old Beyond fit perfectly; do I have to provide new measurements?
A: We do ask that new measurements are provided.  Over time certain variables may change even slightly and those can affect the fit of a garment.  At Step 5, p lease answer yes to the question ?have you ordered previously??, that will allow the production team to compare the original pattern to the new measurements.  Ensuring that you still get the best fit possible.  We have also possibly added Measurement or Build Type needs since your last order.

Q: I have a jacket from another company which I like the fit and features of.  Can I send it in and have a copy made?
A: Beyond employs garment designers just like any other company.  They have created designs which Beyond feels are the best available on the market.  Therefore we are unable to create replicas of any other company?s garment.  We do take suggestions though.  Our designers will review and if accepted initiated at the time of the next design session.

Q: Why are there so many questions to answer and measurements to provide when ordering?
A: Each question answered provides the production team another variable to adjust the fit of your chosen garment.  One variable, unanswered, may affect how another one is used.

Q: I?m worried about doing my own measurements. I?m in the area; can I come in and have you do it?
A: At this time we are unable to measure customers in house.  Beyond has been in business for the last 15 years and over this time thousands of people have successfully provided us with correct measurements.  If you have any questions at all please consult the measuring instructions (link to measuring pdf) on the website, contact us at connect@beyondclothing.com, or feel free to give our customer service a call at (800)741-3369.

Q: I want to order a standard size, why is the wait still the same as for custom?
A: All garments are made to order.  Some customers prefer to not provide any measurement info or are ordering for a group of others and therefore order standard sizes.  Even if you want a standard size, as many measurements as possible will help us make any modifications to your pattern to allow an even better fit than our standard sizing.

Q: Do you have a showroom where I can see the product and ask questions of staff?
A: At this time Beyond does not have a showroom or retail outlet.  Our staff are available to answer questions by phone and e-mail.  Fabric samples can also be sent so that you may feel the fabric before making your final decision.

Q: Why should I have a custom made jacket when a product off the rack fits me fine?
A:
Good question. Many of our customers thought the same thing until they received their custom fit jacket. They then found that the rack products really didn't fit fine. They just didn't know any better. A custom fit is an amazing feeling. Many Beyond Customers say "its not just a superior jacket, its a perfect jacket". Then of course there is your choice of options. If you are going into the back country for three weeks, you don't want to carry any weight that you don't need. -or- you get to choose, if you are a climber with needs for many pockets and pitzips for ventilation. Your choice, Your Beyond. Another reason is that all Beyond products are American Made. This is very rare in today's international economy. Benefits of American Made goods are many, but two of the most important are American jobs, and less polution shipping the products from overseas.

Shipping Questions

Q: What is the cost to ship outside of the United States?
A: CanadA: $25.00 for the first garment, and drops 50% for each consecutive garment. ie. 25, 12.50, 6.25.
Other countries: $40.00 for the first garment, and drops 50% for each garment after. ie. 40, 20, 10, 5.

Q: Is expedited shipping available?
A: Expedited shipping is available however this will not change the production time for your garment.

After Ordering

Q: I received my new Beyond and it doesn?t fit.  What can I do?
A: There are times when a garment does not fit (about 2%).  This may be for many reasons. Our RIGHT FIT GUARANTEE makes it so this is a stress free time for you. We are happy to accept the garment back, and will adjust or remake the product with your required changes. Proudly, this creates a perfect fit every time. It is rare that this happens, so please sit back, and enjoy the creation of your Camber Layering System. Please contact RFG@beyondclothing.com to receive the proper form for your garment.

Q: Can changes be made to the fit of my garment after the RFG period has passed?
A: Changes may be made on a case by case basis and depending on such things as the age and condition of the garment, whether Beyond still uses the pattern by which the garment was made, and the extent of the alteration. Such repairs or alterations generally cost $15 for fabric and $20 per hour of sewing. Variations on this pricing are at the sole discretion of Beyond Clothing and will be communicated to the customer before any alteration or repair begins.

Q: My old Beyond has been damaged.  Can I send it back for repair?
A: The ability to repair a garment and the associated cost are dependent up the product and type of damage.  Please contact connect@beyondclothing.com for further information.

Q: I lost my old Beyond, do you still have my measurements to re-make it?
A: We do have records from 2004 onward for most orders.  Please email connect@beyondclothing.com with your name, address, email, phone, and order number (if available).

Q: My zipper no longer works; is this covered under warranty?
A: Most zipper repairs are covered under the Beyond warranty. Some due to damage, or wear and tear are not.  To initiate a warranty claim, please email connect@beyondclothing.com. Once reviewed we?ll let you know of any costs.

Q: I would like to add some features to an already existing garment. What can I add and how do I initiate such an order?
A: Only pit zips are possible to add at this time.  This is due to the complexity of taking apart garments already made.  Total cost of the modification is  $40.  Please contact connect@beyondclothing.com to initiate this change if desired.

Q: What condition does my garment need to be in when I send it in?
A: RFG: In new condition.  This is due to our ability to sell at one of our local sales as a first quality garment.
A: Warranty: Recently washed.  Law requires that any garment being returned for work by our production staff be in clean condition.  If the garment is not recently cleaned, or smells or looks dirty (more than stains) we will need to send back to you upon receipt.  Please respect our production staff, and allow us to work on just your Beyond.

Q: How do I wash my Beyond garment?
A: Wash your garment inside out, in a regular wash with warm water. Allow the garment to AIR DRY.
This is due to the lamination of fabrics, and the synthetic nature of the garments.
They should be almost dry after spin cycle of the washing machine.
